Service Description

In our technology and results-driven world, many of us spend days looking at computer screens and this may leave us feeling flat and uninspired. Working with our hands can be the perfect pastime to bring joy and relaxation.   Our art classes are suitable for anyone who is missing the joy of craft in their lives, with or without previous experience. We teach the grid painting method; it’s a lot of fun and a great way to learn the fundamentals of art-making while creating something unique and beautiful. You will select one image that you love and re-create it on canvas. You will learn the basics of colour theory, and how to mix paints and enhance moods in your artwork. The technique includes drawing a square grid over your design, and a grid of equal ratio on the canvas, and then colouring one square at a time, until: voila! You have a beautiful painting that you will take home after the course has finished.  While we strive to make something wonderful, the goal of this class isn’t a gallery-ready masterpiece. It’s the process that matters, with art-making as a self-care practice – accompanied by a carefully curated playlist, homemade cakes, tea, and delightfully messy paints. We paint without the pressure of perfection or the need for validation from others.  It’s liberating to enjoy the moment and create for the simple pleasure of it. The course runs for 10 weeks and costs £299, attending one evening a week. We kindly ask you for a deposit of £150 (non-refundable after 30th December 2023) to secure your space. Spaces are very limited, so once you secure your spot, we will help you choose the best painting to copy and ask you to pay the outstanding sum by 30th December 2023 (two weeks before the course starts). Included: Acrylic paints set, paint brushes set, canvas panel size A3, paint palettes, home-baked cakes, and dreamy music playlist. Bring with you: Enthusiasm and an outfit that can get messy.
